An Interview With Timmy

Here's the next interview in my 'sibling interview' series. Timmy is the star this time! I really enjoyed interviewing him, as I did interviewing Caleb. It's nice not having to come up with something new every week!

Timmy's Interview

1: How old are you?

10. I'll be 11 in like three days.

2: What grade are you in?

I am in 5th grade.

3: What is your favorite food?

I like chicken burgers on fresh homemade rolls. And my favorite dessert is warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

4: What is your favorite color?

My favorite color would be brown or orange.

Timmy goofing off. Photo by me.

5: What is your favorite subject in school?

Geography.

6: What do you like best about our family?

Our family does a lot of things together. I like that because I enjoy being with people.

7: Describe your normal day.

At about seven o'clock every morning, I get up to do the animal chores. Then I come in and eat breakfast, clean my room, and then work for Mom until lunch. After lunch I take about an hour of break-time, and then do school until four. Then I do the evening animal chores. After I eat supper I do the dishes. Then Dad reads to Caleb and me from 'The Lord Of The Rings'. Then I go to bed. That's it.

8: What jobs do you have around the house?

I clean doors, windows, and floors. Fix broken cupboards and stuff. I bring in salt for the water softener. And I help with the lunch dishes and I do the supper dishes.

9: Do you have a pet?

Yes, I have a small green-and-yellow parakeet, which was hand fed so it is very friendly.

10: What do you like least about our family?

Having burnt egg rolls on a hot afternoon.

11: Which season is your favorite and why?

Summer, because I enjoy working in the garden and I kind of like spring because we get to plant stuff.

12: What is your favorite animal and why?

I've got a lot of favorite animals but I like birds in general, because I enjoy watching them and they fly!

13: What is your favorite thing to do and why?

Go on sled-rides behind Matthew's tractor, because he slings snow in your face.

14: What is your favorite book and movie?

I like a movie called something like 'Toyland'. My favorite book is 'Jim Longknife'.

15: Do you have a hobby, and if so, what is it?

Carpentry.

16: If you could own any animal, what would it be and why?

I would own a wild cardinal. I think cardinals are pretty and they sing sweet songs.

17: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do?

I would go to the Pacific Coast and swim and fish.

18: What do you want to be when you grow up and why?

A pilot, because I enjoy flying.

19: What is your favorite holiday and why?

Easter, because we have lots of Easter eggs and I like the lamb dinner.

20: Anything you would like to say to my readers in closing?

Lately I have been building a bird feeder. I build lots of bird feeders and birdhouses. That's it.

The Weekly Bible Verse

Proverbs 10:8: The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.

Bits and Pieces

This week we celebrated our 13th anniversary of moving to Loda. As always, we celebrated with a big lunch. During the special dinner of homemade lasagna and numerous favorite desserts, Mom and Dad told us the whole story about moving from San Diego, California, to Loda, Illinois. The story is an amazing reminder that God really has taken care of us in the past, and that He has plans for us even in the weirdest and scariest things He calls us to do.

I am very, very happy to announce that Dad is now officially off the medication he has been taking for the last year. He has been taking predisone to combat a horrible condition called CIDP. (Please don't ask me what those letters stand for. I have no idea how to say it, and I'm not even going to TRY to spell it. Mom knows all about it and even she stumbles trying to pronounce it!) He has been going regularly to a doctor near here for check-ups, and has been doing very well. Every now and again the doctor would reduce the dose of predisone Dad had to take. We have been faithfully praying that Dad could get off the medication entirely, and praise God, this week, he did! Believe me, there were cheers when Mom walked in beaming to announce that Dad was FINALLY off the medication!

A Word About The Weather

It has been a pretty chilly week over all, with rapidly falling temperatures predicted for next week. Snow was flying for a few hours on Thursday, but did not stay, as the ground was not frozen.

A Word of Wisdom

A cold is never a big deal unless it's yours.
